Guest speaker Andrew Nagorski will present “The Nazi Hunters” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 2487 A1A South.
More than seven decades after the end of WWII, the era of the Nazi hunters is drawing to a close. Their full saga can now be told.
Nagorski’s book, “The Nazi Hunters,” focuses on the small band of men and women who refused to allow their crimes to be forgotten and who were determined to track them down to the furthest corner of the earth.
At first, the Nazi hunters wanted revenge, Nagorski says, but soon their story was transformed into a relentless struggle for justice. What are the lessons learned that we can apply to our world today?
Nagorski is an award-winning journalist and author who spent more than three decades as a foreign correspondent and editor for Newsweek. He is now based in St Augustine but continues to travel extensively, writing for numerous publications. Both of his most recent books, “Hitlerland: American Eyewitnesses to the Nazi Rise to Power” (Simon &Schuster, 2012) and “The Nazi Hunters” (Simon &Schuster, 2016), have received rave reviews.
In addition, the church will host movie night at 6:30 p.m. today. The movie relates to the topic of Andrew Nagorski’s presentation. “Hannah Arendt” is the woman who wrote the controversial book about the trial of Adolf Eichmann. This probing movie has a rating of 94 by Rotten Tomatoes.
Fellowship meetings, religious education for children and child care are provided at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays.
